General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. Bedford Villa. This house is located in Avis Lane, North Melbourne. The Lane was named by one Thomas Avis after himself. Avis was a successful cabinet-maker and ironmonger, who resided in the villa c1890 (Source: https://www.melbournestreets.com.au/avis-lane/).The photo details a side view of the villa entering from Chapman St. A single creeping ivy plant adorns an corrugated iron fence. A parapet can be seen on the roof of the villa, inscribed with the words Bedford Villa. A cat can be seen perched on one of two posts accommodating a wire gate. Leafy trees and lush plants and shrubbery can be seen extending through the wire fence of the property.
