General notes:

This image is possibly from an album titled "Sketches made during visits to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. 1852-1853" by Montefiore, Eliezer Levi, 1820-1894.The image is presumed to be near the Haymarket Roundabout, where Flemington Road veers off from Elizabeth Street. The area is shown as raised, as it still is. There is an encampment with tents, people and horses. Flemington Road leads into Mt Alexander Road, a known route to the goldfields.
