Hotham Town Hall, The Australasian Sketcher, 27th November, 1875, p 132.Notes: Sketch of Hotham Town Hall (now North Melbourne town hall). The site was originally the town Courthouse, and building of the Town hall was completed in early 1876. The cost was £12,000 (approx. $2,116,000.00 in 2020).(Source: https://www.measuringworth.com/calculators/australiacompare/relativevalue.php).The building was designed by architect Mr. George R. Johnson, and the contractor was Mr. David Parry.(Source: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/60447008)The building was renamed North Melbourne Town Hall in August, 1887 when the town was renamed North Melbourne.The roads can be seen to be dirt, with at least two horse-drawn carriages present in the scene.
