General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. Brougham Terrace, 35-39 Brougham Street, North Melbourne.A block of 3 terrace houses, with central parapet inscribed with the words "Brougham Terrace". Beneath the parapet is an external cornice ledge encompassing the length of all 3 abodes. There are cast iron balustrades adorning the balconies, with cast iron gates at the base of the facade. A fire hydrant is also visible beside the kerb.An extention can be seen on the balcony of the house 3 which could have been a den or a bathroom. Today, the building remains, with the first house enshrined in ivy and other various shrubbery, the extention removed from house three, and all three balconies readorned with cast iron lattice work. The central house (No 37) was also the abode of one Miss Patricia Angela Bickett, a schoolteacher who was fatally shot and killed by an amorous neighbour in 1914.
