It is proposed to build up to nine stories in reinforced concrete, with a facade conforming to a `simple ' but attractive design. The site is- occupied at present by a building erected about sixty years ago, and chiefly used -as club rooms by the Victorian Softgoods Association.A feature of the brick and cement elevation to the `Lane’ being the decorative elements carried out in green tiles, probably the first employed for that purpose in the city. The old building, which has a frontage of about 25. feet and a depth of 80 -feet, is separated from neighboring structures by Cocker-alley on the cast and Scott-alley on the west. The new addition to this busy corner will cost between £30,000 and £40,000. The architects are Messrs.
