General notes:
Grading as at 1991 : Upgraded from E to DPeriod : FederationThis house is a Queen Anne style, asymmetrically planned, single-storey red brick dwelling, with a terracotta tiled gable roof. The house has a deep setback, and displays many typical features of the style, including a timber fretted gable end and roughcast render on the upper walls. The small entrance porch has an ornamental timber frieze and turned timber post. A rendered string course aligns with the sill of a canted bay window which has a terracotta tiled hood. The red brick chimney has a rendered capping and terracotta pots. It is of local historical and aesthetic interest, dating from a relatively late subdivision which occurred following the demolition of the Melbourne Benevolent Asylum. It is a relatively intact, representative example of an Edwardian villa.
