General notes:
Grading as at 1999 : DPeriod : Interwar (1938)The building at 11 Wreckyn Street is first included in the Sands & McDougall directories in 1938, listed as the Acme Trading & Agency Co. In 1940 the building was used for storage by A Besson. It is a small, single storey warehouse with a basement, of red brick construction with a gabled parapetted roof. The façade, constructed to the property line, is divided into two bays by brick piers. The bays are slightly recessed and contain a metal-framed glazed entrance door and metal-framed windows, all of relatively recent origin. All openings have brick voussoirs. It is of local aesthetic and historical interest, being associated with the inter-War period of commercial development in the inner suburbs. Aesthetically, the building is typical of the stripped classical style of the 1930s, and the building is an interesting element in the streetscape.
