A view from Bourke Street looking west towards the Southern Cross Station from Swanston Street. On the left is the Bull and Mouth Hotel, then Cole's Book Arcade and Rubira's Hotel. The colonnaded building is possibly Edments. These buildings were demolished in the 1930s. The buildings on the left all have corporation verandahs. There are no verandahs on the right. There are cable trams and horse drawn carts. There are also some motorised vehicles on the right.
