Date of Construction: 1868Building Citation: The 'Opera House' was erected by G.A. Badger for himself in 1868. The distinctive feature of this house is the opera box balcony with its unusual balustrade panels and ground floor lattice work frieze. The cast iron brackets and recessed front entrance are notable. This building is an outstanding feature of the East Melbourne precinct.
