General notes:
Building type: FlatsPeriod; Date: Inter-War; c.1930History: The house was constructed c.1930. It first appears in the Sands & McDougall directory in 1931, when it was occupied by Mrs Mary King. the house appears to have been converted into flats.Description: The building is a double-storey inter-War residence. Walls are of rendered brick and the shallow-pitched hipped roof is clad in terracotta tiles and penetrated by a plain red brick chimney with a corbelled breast below. The front elevation has a projecting bay with two long, narrow windows, to the left of the main entrance porch, which appears to have altered. Most windows are timber-framed double-hung sashes with six-pane upper sashes. The rendered brick front fence appears to be original.Significance: The house is of local historical and aesthetic interest. Historically, it is representative of the substantial residences which were constructed in large numbers throughout South Yarra in the inter-War period. Aesthetically, the house is reasonably intact and makes a positive contribution to the mixed streetscape.
