Date of Construction: 1895, 1908 and later additionsBuilding Citation: This group of buildings was constructed in several stages (the western end is not significant) mainly of tuckpointed red brick with render bands and some polychromatic brick. The boundary buildings are in a primitive Romanesque style with semi-circular arched blind arcades and castellated parapets. Elsewhere on the site there are polychromatic brick buildings circa 1895. The tower is a landmark in East Melbourne.
