Grading as a t 1991 : BPeriod : Mid Victorian (1896)Grantee : P Fenwick 1860These houses were built for Mr C Cave, probably of the firm of merchants and importers, Henry Cave and Co., in 1896. He leased 206 to Jessie Watkins, a seamstress and 204 to Thomas Auld, of the Flemington timber firm.A pair of wide-frontage, two-storeyed stuccoed brick houses with parapets, two-level iron verandahs and iron picket fences. The ornate entablatures have segmentally arched pediments, flanked by balustrading and piers and underscored by a bracketted and dentillated cornice. Upper openings are arched, whilst the lower are segment-arched with architraves terminating on impost moulds. Notable features include unusual overdoors, verandah, finishes, fenceArchitecturally, a late and incomplete example of a common form of row house which contributes to an isolated group of 19th century housing: of local importance. Historically, owned and occupied by some of the building-allied and merchant figures of the area: of local importance. 206 has a mural on the side by important street artist, Ghost Patrol.
