General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. Situated at 220 Abbotsford Street, on the corner of Abbotsford and Provost Streets, North Melbourne, the North Star Hotel was the oldest hotel license in North Melbourne, although not the actual oldest hotel building (Edinburgh Castle is). Built in 1853, it was originally located in Howard Street but was moved in 1859 to its present site. It has since been demolished.
