General notes:
Type/Original use: ResidenceStyle: VictorianPeriod: VictorianConstruction date: 1885Materials: render, encaustic tilesNotable features/Significance: Render detail to these houses is high quality and resembles other terraces in South Yarra in Domain Road. The frieze and balustrade iron are intact. Parapet detailing front doors and render around partite windows are all of particular note. The lamp post outside was acquired and placed in the present position by Ian Rice around 1975 at the request of two elderly spinster sisters living at no. 57 Bromby Street who had referred to an earlier post which had been removed, and were nostalgic about the loss.Architect:Builder: Percy Longbottom Canning Street Carlton for P LongbottomOccupier/Owner 1887: Various/P Longbottom1926: Various/Edward Custle1966, 1982: Various/VariousAlterations & additions:
