Evidence of early gable roof form visible on side elevation.Significance: No.119-123 is a rare survivor from the 1850s. If it’s precise date can be shown to be early rather than late 1850s, it will place the building amongst the oldest in South Yarra and amongst the oldest in Melbourne.Alterations: Verandah parapet; doors; windows (extremely inappropriate)Other Comments: Removal of post World War 1 verandah and parapet desirable with replacement verandah compatible with 1890s phase. Do not permit demolition. This building requires further investigation to determine the extent of the 1855 structure.A few important members of the community occupied the building: John Henry Moore (1862-1863); Professor Neumayer (1863-1864); and Robert Ellery (1864)Builder: R.
