General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. North Melbourne Rovers Cricket team, c 1905. They were coached by James Adam Howlett and were mainly businessmen from Errol Street and the Metropolitan Meat Market. according to the notations, on the far left, standing, is Charles Luckman, and to his right is C White in a hat and cricket pads. Fifth from the left is S Samuel, with a notation that he was famous at Gallipoli for tricking the enemy. During withdrawal they hung a billy of water on the gun, and put a whole in the bottom so the guns kept firing. However this man is too old to serve in WWI and is probably referring to his son, Stanley Samuel. To the right of him is C Lety. Seated in front of him, with his hat on the ground is James Adam Howlett. All the others are unidentified.
