In 1960, the occupant was recorded as Mrs C Platt..Description:The house at 36 Bayswater Road is a single-storey, block-fronted Edwardian villa with an L-shaped plan, and a hipped and gabled corrugated galvanised steel roof. The house displays a variety of decorative details. The small verandah has turned timber posts and ornate cast iron decoration, and the window to the projecting bay has an elaborate hood with timber and cast iron brackets. The street façade has a weatherboard dado beneath the block-fronting. Chimneys are red brick with corbelled brick capping's. The woven wire fence is recent..Significance:The house at 36 Bayswater Road, Kensington, is of local aesthetic and historic importance. The house is representative of the more substantial villas which were erected in Kensington during the early years of the twentieth century. The house is intact and particularly ornate, and contributes to the predominantly Edwardian nature of the surrounding streetscape, sharing some details with No. 29.
