General notes:
Grading as at 1999: Upgraded from E to DPeriod: Victorian, built 1884This house is a small, single-storey, nineteenth century residence of rendered masonry construction with a gabled roof concealed by a stepped parapet with a central segmented arch. A verandah extends across the façade, terminated by rendered wing walls. Unusually, the house has a basement to the rear, with non-original windows facing the adjacent laneway. It is of aesthetic and historic interest, being a typical example of the modest housing which was constructed in North Melbourne during the nineteenth century Boom period, and, although superficially altered, the overall nineteenth century form of the house is apparent. The existence of a basement taking up the slope of the site is of particular note.
