Gradings as at 2002: Altered from E to DPeriod: VictorianThe dwelling at 179 Abbotsford Street, along with No.181, are joined by a party wall and share the same roofline with no visible parapet. Alterations to the window openings and fences have occurred at both places. No.179 appears to have rendered surface removed which has now exposed the brickwork.The buildings illustrate the integration of workers housing and industrial activity. It makes a contribution to the heritage value of North Melbourne, illustrating the established patterns of mixed use. The buildings at 179 and 181 are clearly a pair, and that the loss of either building would have significant impacts on each other.
