General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne LibraryNational Hotel, corner of Victoria and O'Connell Streets, North Melbourne. This was originally the Meat Market Hotel, but was renamed and totally rebuilt in 1937. To the right of the building is the original site of Simpson's Real Estate and to the left, a wooden workshop of Melford Motors, who had a main showroom in Elizabeth Street. The National Hotel building is still there, but none of the other buildings are extant.
