GRAEME BUTLER 1983,1991 CONSERVATION STUDY FOR THE CITY OF MELBOURNE OF NORTH AND WEST MELBOURNEGrading as at 1991 : CPeriod : Mid Victorian (1884)grantee : J Laurens 1865History- James Ford, a wood turner and timber merchant was the first owner and occupier of this house from 1883 until after 1890 when his wife Ellen's name is listed.Description- A two storey, stuccoed brick and parapetted house, with a two level cast iron verandah and a segment arched parapet entablature. A notable stuccoed masonry and iron picket fence is at the frontage. Segment arched upper level openings with architrave/impost moulds are used in an unlikely combination with wide, flat arched openings at the ground level.
