General notes:
246 is named Sargeants.Anne Braid, then of Dryburgh Street, is given as the first owner of these row houses after their construction in 1910 by builder, J C Morrison of Church Street, Parkville. They are single-storey, single-fronted parapetted brick row houses with iron decoration to the verandahs and iron fences. Plainly ornamented, they possess segment arched entablatures, scrolls and urns as well having an unusual, cruciform in plan, arched tops to the fence piers. The iron fence is a double palisade with both spear and fleur-de-lis heads. Notable features include the fence; verandah decoration; verandah roof and structure. Architecturally, they are a plainly decorated and late example of a common form of row house, but near original and set in a cohesive streetscapeI-heritage https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/building-and-development/heritage-planning/Pages/i-heritage-database-search-results.aspx?heritageid=4727
