General notes:
Grading as at 1999 : CPeriod - Mid to Late Victorian, construction date 1891-2A pair of double-storey rendered Mannerist Boom style shops. The ornate facades are largely intact at the first floor level, comprising semi-circular timber-framed double-hung sash windows with a range of moulded architraves and keystones, moulded spandrel panels, and raised and fielded panels to the pilaster strips. Above the windows is a dentillated cornice, and a parapet surmounted by a scrolled pediment. They are of historical and aesthetic importance, having been erected in 1891, and demonstrate an important phase of commercial development associated with prosperous Boom period. Substantially intact at the upper level, the shops are a particularly ornate example of the Boom style, displaying characteristic Mannerist elements.
