Grading as at 1985 : BPeriod : Mid Victorian (1892)Grantee : F Griffith 1852As soon as these shops were constructed in 1892, William McNabb and co, tailors, purchased them from Mr Hellicar, the estate agent. From 1891 to at least 1900. McNabb carried out his business from 376 and rented out 378 to a dressmaker, Elizabeth Warr.A three storey, stuccoed brick and parapetted shop and residence with a trabeated and arcuated façade and rich stucco decoration concentrated on the upper storey and parapet. Orbs, ;secondary and primary entablatures, balustrading and cement guilloche panels are used within the pseudo-structural framework of pilasters and protruding wall bays.A dominating corner-sited part of Victoria Street's commercial streetscape, matching another corner building at 464 Victoria Street, on the corner of Leveson Street.Architecturally, a near original and extensive suburban commercial premises with skilfully applied ornament and original elements, such as the shop fronts.
