General notes:

North Melbourne Library Circulation Desk, c 1970s.Notes: Four women can be seen around the service desk. It is possibly December or January, as Christmas decorations appear to adorn the ceiling and selected shelving and two staff members appear to be wearing summer attire. Fluorescent lighting is visible from the ceiling. A drawer is missing from the card catalogue cabinet. The staff member slightly obscured by the patron at the desk may perhaps have the drawer in her possession, and is searching on behalf of said patron. To the right of the catalogue cabinet, stands a vitrine display table. What appears to be a push/pull rod (for window blinds) can be seen leaning on the back corner wall between the shelving and the door (which may be a fire exit or storage room). The public seating area in the foreground appears slightly unkempt with both table and chairs in disarray, possibly utilised by an unseen patron. A display of three wooden casings can be seen adjacent to the seating area, almost seemingly tethered by an indoor plant in a pot detailing early 70's fashion decor. A second catalogue cabinet can also be seen to the right of the scene. Linoleum flooring is also noted throughout. In the adjacent area to the right of the desk, more fluorescent lighting can be seen, with undefined posters upon the wall above the shelving.
