General notes:

Originally known as No 115, this property first appears in rate books in 1876. It was described as four-room wooden house and shop, owned and occupied by Agnes Walker, a milliner. The Sands & McDougall Directory for 1877 identifies the shop as a 'straw hat manufactory', and subsequent editions of the directory reveal that Mrs Walker was still operating her millinery business from this address in 1920. Later occupants of the shop include Mrs Margaret Raymer, a confectioner, around 1921, and William Savile, a sauce manufacturer, for the rest of that decade. In the early 1930s it was occupied by Holmes and Company, boot polish manufacturers. Since then, it has been a private residence. It is a single-storey weatherboard building, built on the street boundary. The front facade has timber-framed double-hung sash windows, with a timber sill board. The front door is timber, and has an occular window in the upper panel. A louvered highlight window has been installed above the door. There is a drainage pipe extending across the facade from a rainwater head to a downpipe on the opposite side of the building. The roof is concealed behind a timber parapet with a raked pediment. Although the shopfront itself has been altered, the original and distinctive timber parapet has survived and is of interest as a rare survivor of a once more typical form of shop construction.
