Collins, had Richmond builder, Charles Luff and architect. W J. Wood create a brick shop and dwelling here in 1907, replacing an 'iron shop’. 5Collins or his estate owned the shop into the 1950s with major tenants including Leo Leber (clothier)and Salvatore Cravanas in the New Olympia Cafe. 6 A long succession of cafes preceded the Olympia, such as the Lucas & Black Cafe, the George Tavalrakis Cafe and the Parisian Cafe. 7 It is now (1989) the King of Kings a Chinese restaurant.DescriptionA two-storey shop and residence which possesses notable foliated and strapwork detailing in the parapet and tympanum, with near intact upstairs timber joinery. Typically brick ribbing is used on the elevation in company with discrete areas of stucco set against once dominant red brickwork.
