The occupant of the house is noted as John Waddell, who resided in the house until the early twentieth century. In 1910, the house was occupied by Lachlan Grant..Description:The house at 33 Bayswater Road is a single storey Victorian cottage with a corrugated galvanised steel transverse gabled roof penetrated by a painted brick chimney. The house, probably originally clad in weatherboards, has artificial brick cladding. The façade has a central entrance flanked by timber framed double hung sash windows with vertical glazing bars in the upper sashes. The original decoration to the verandah has been removed and it is now supported by metal posts. The woven wire front fence is not original..Significance:The house at 33 Bayswater Road, Kensington, is of local aesthetic and historic interest. The house is representative of the type of modest housing constructed in Kensington during the Boom period of the 1880's. Despite alterations, the scale and form of the house is reinforced by the nature of the surrounding streetscape.
