General notes:
Grading as at 1999 : DPeriod : Mid Victorian, built 1887This house first appears in the Sands & McDougall directories in 1887 as a vacant house. The following year the occupant is recorded as Abraham George West. By the turn of the century, the house was occupied by Edwin Teague. It is a single-storey, nineteenth century residence forming a pair with the adjacent Number 351 under a common slate roof. The front façade of the house has been obscured by a timber framed glazed partition wall enclosing the original verandah. The corrugated galvanised steel roof and cast iron frieze of the verandah remain intact. The front fence is cast iron with a rendered brick pier and a corbelled capping marking the shared boundary on either side. It is representative of the type of modest housing constructed in North Melbourne during the mid-nineteenth century, a significant phase of the development of the suburb. Despite the alterations, the nineteenth century form of the house is apparent with the original slate roof, verandah and verandah detailing and cast iron fence all remaining intact.
