The hotel, one of the oldest in Melbourne, adjoins the board's head office. Perrott, architect, to prepare plans for a five-storey building at the rear of ; the proposed new head office of the Board of Works in Spencer st will be recommended to the board by the , finance committee on Tuesday. In October the board approved the erection of a new head office building at an estimated cost of £490,000. Because of grave lack of office space and the time which may elapse before the new building is completed, the five-storey edifice is planned for interim office occupation. It will be used later as a warehouse. The finance committee will also recommend the extension of the first floor of the present head office build 1 mg to provide office space, at an estimated cost of £6,250._________________________________________.
