Construction Date: 1865Architect: Wm. WardellHistoric Summary: The site was part of a grant to the Roman Catholic Church (Act 391, Gaz. 75.1109). The Chapel was built in 1865 to serve as both church and school, It appears first in the Directories in 1867 as St. John's Common School, teacher Peter Madeen and the following year with 'headmaster, Patrick Brennan'.
