There are five flower girls and several wigged male attendants. An audience of mostly women and children is standing from their chairs to view the activities..The Age, Thursday 5 November 1936, page 6:"Princess" Coronation Ceremony.Thirty-eight branches of the Girls' Friendly Society are competing in the Princess competition, which will culmi nate in a coronation ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall, on the evening of Saturday, 14th inst. The princesses are Love, Joy. Youth, Beauty, Courage and Friendship. Mr. W. H. Everard, M.L.A., will crown the winning queen, and Mrs. F. W. Head, president of the G.F.S., will be the guest of honor. A programme of music and dances is being arranged. This is the first time that members of the G.F.S. have organised such a big effort to raise funds, and proceeds will be devoted to the building fund for the new hostel in Spring-street.Reference: "Princess" Coronation Ceremony.
