General notes:
Type/Original use: ResidenceStyle: VictorianPeriod: VictorianConstruction date: 1891Materials: tuck pointed red brick, renderNotable features/Significance: An excellent example of terrace houses typical of the late Victorian era. It is remarkably intact in finish and detailing. Blind arcading to parapet is unpainted, the garden form and fence survive as do the encaustic tiles, and slate garden edging. It is rare to find such a complete example in Melbourne.Architect: David GrantBuilder: Brownhill & Biggins Drysdale Street Malvern for E W GillOccupier/Owner 1895: Birnie/Bank of NSW (45), Edward Gill (47)1936: Ernest Ronald/Stephen Hogan (45), Bridget McKenna (47)1955: Edith Ronald/McKinnar family (45), Linnead McKinnar/McKinnar family (47)1978-79: Flats (45, 47)1982: Linnus John & Mary McKinnar (45, 47)
