It appears for the first time in the the Sand & McDougall directories in 1915, when it was occupied by Evan Evans, Listed as tent and tarpaulin manufacturer. Fourteen years earlier, Ivor Evan earned fame and prominence with his winning design for the flag for the newly- federated Commonwealth of Australia.
