It is first listed in the Sands & McDougall directory in 1917, when the occupant was Edward Hayes..Description:The house at 62 Kensington Road is a single-storey weatherboard Edwardian cottage with a longitudinal gabled roof. The upper walls are roughcast rendered above a weatherboard dado, and the gable end is half-timbered with roughcast rendered infill. Windows are timber-framed casements with highlights. The verandah has been removed..Significance:The house at 62 Kensington Road, Kensington, is of local historical and aesthetic interest. The house is an example of the type of small timber Edwardian cottages which were constructed in large numbers in this part of Kensington in the 1910s. The house is a contributory element in a largely intact streetscape.
