The three auctioneers—K. Gardner and Lang Pty. Ltd., Yeo Crosthwaite and Co. and G. B. Appleton and Company are negotiating a private sale, the six shops, on the east side of Swanston-st., between Bourke-st. and Little Collins-st., return a gross rental of -£8794. The land measures 92ft. 8 in. by 68.1/2 ft.About 35 people attended the auction at Scott's Hotel only three bid for the property. Bidding opened at £140,000, and in five minutes had risen by £5000 bids to £195,000.
