General notes:
Construction Date: 1869Architect: John James ClarkHistoric Summary: Allotments 1-3 and 16-20, Section 21, were originally reserved for National School. This house which faces Powlett Street was originally rated and numbered 1/14 Powlett Street, but was later changed to Gipps Street. Because of its unusual mixture of timber, cast iron lace and cast iron pillars, it is something of a landmark, and is mentioned in Graeme Robertson's 'Cast Iron Lace in Melbourne'.Walls: Rendered and face brickRoof: Slates, ironOwners: John James Clark 1869; James Parker 1865; Selwyn Slaney 1979Occupiers: 1870-1872 J.J.
