General notes:

Police officer at Saleyards. Police presence was needed to report missing stock and guard duty for payroll for Melbourne City Council employees and staff. In the early days, a police member was assigned to the SAleyards on a full time basis. She is sitting at a desk reading the newspaper and smoking, a sign of the times, as are the number of glamour posters on the walls.
