General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. O'Donnell's Family Hotel, now the Royal Mail Hotel, corner of Spencer and Stanley Streets. O'Donnell family ran this hotel 1877-1879. It is a two-storey hotel with a corner opening and it appears part of the building was shared with H Christensen, a tailor. This building was upadated in the 1940s. In the image are 4 men, a woman in the doorway and three younger people, including a girl holding a baby.Next to the hotel is the premised of W Mead, plumber and gasfitter. It is a two storey shop with a verandah. This building has possibly been incorporated into the hotel as the pediment remains
