The following year the occupant of the house was noted as Walter Lyons..Description:The house at 34 Bayswater Road is a single-storey block-fronted Edwardian villa with a hipped and gabled roof penetrated by two red brick chimneys with corbelled capping. L-shaped in plan, the projecting bay has decorative timber bargeboards to the gable end and a timber bracketed window hood. The verandah has a tiled roof and turned timber posts. Windows are timber-framed double-hung sashes, and the entry door is timber panelled with a fanlight. Alterations include the removal of the original verandah decoration and the re-cladding of the roof in tiles..Significance:The house at 34 Bayswater Road, Kensington, is of local aesthetic and historic interest. The house is representative of the type of villas which were built in Kensington during the early years of the twentieth century. The house is substantially intact and contributes to the predominantly Edwardian nature of the surrounding streetscape.
