General notes:
Upgraded from E to D. These houses are a pair of semi-detached, single-storey nineteenth century dwellings, of bichromatic brick construction. A rendered parapet conceals the roof of each house with a moulded and rendered cornice and scrolled and segmented arched pediments. Each house has a recent bullnose verandah with corrugated galvanised steel roofing terminated by brick wing walls with vermiculated rendered panels and pressed cement consoles. The front façades have red body bricks with contrasting cream brick string courses. Each façade contains a four-panelled door and a timber-framed double-hung sash window. They are of aesthetic and historical interest being representative of the type of development which occurred in North Melbourne during the late nineteenth century. The pair is substantially intact and a typical, albeit late, example of the Italianate style, with characteristic ornate cement rendered decoration and bichromatic brickwork.
