Greer and Ashburner had previously operated from a building constructed for them in Little Collins Street in 1872. By the early 1920s, the firm had relocated from Little Lonsdale Street to larger premises at the corner of Franklin Street and Swanston Street.In 1922, Harrison Bros and Co operated a tyre-repair business from the building at 277-279 Little Lonsdale Street (Argus 18 January 1922:3).The building was sold in 1939 (Herald 7 June 1939:18) and by the early 1950s, cigarette manufacturer Godfrey Phillips was using it as a factory (Age 27 May 1953:9). Photimport Pty Ltd operated from the building in 1960 (Australian Women's Weekly 7 December 1960:101).The building was refurbished in 1994 (CoMMaps).__________________________________________________
