General notes:
Image held by North Melbourne Library. Night lights from the Yarra River, showing the Immigration Museum (Old Customs House) to the right. In the centre the former site of the of the Yarra Family Hotel, purchased by the Commonwealth Govt in 1960 for £52,500 and developed into a twenty storey concrete office block named Customs House in 1967. The building was refurbished, subdivided and converted into a mix residential units, serviced apartments and parking in 1998 to a design by Peddle Thorp. Now called Clarion Gateway Apartments. To the left is a building labelled SEC (State Electricity Commission). At the rear of the image is the National Mutual Life building
