'On October 3, 1993, a force of 120 American Delta units and Ranger infantry were dropped into Mogadishu, Somalia to abduct two lieutenatns of the Somalian warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. The mission was planned to take one hour, but when two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down, the men on the ground found themselve outnumbered and literally fighting for their lives. The images of dead soldiers being dragged through the streets left a deep sca on the America's psyche.' -- Container.
