Throughout the 80s and 90s Christian Lacroix had established a look based on a beautiful mix of cultures and eras. Already a part of the LVMH group, it was no surprise when he was tapped to take over at stable-mate Emilio Pucci. In 2005 the relationship between Christian Lacroix and LVMH broke down and the house was bought by the US-based Falic group. It ushered in a new era for the increasingly frustrated couturier. Relieved of his Pucci duties, Lacroix was free to focus not only on his own ready-to-wear and haute couture collections but on the side projects that he finds so energizing. These have included Air France uniforms; hotel and train interiors; museum exhibitions and theater costumes. However, it's always the fashion that comes first for Lacroix, who has created a romantic style and unique signature that few others of his generation have accomplished. In 2007 the house of Lacroix celebrated its 20th anniversary which gave monsieur Lacroix a chance to reflect on an impressive career.
