This program offers a wonderful look at some very interesting "critters." First, avalanches are a common occurrence during winter in the Rocky Mountains, which is why ski patrols love to work with highly trained search and rescue avalanche dogs. Next we view all sorts of animals, learn about 4-H Clubs, and see an auction when we visit the Elbert County Fairground. At the Hotel Colorado we discover that, according to legend, Theodore Roosevelt was presented with a stuffed bear made of material, which his daughter, Alyce, loved and called it a Teddy Bear; the rest, they say, is history. We experience the magnificence of a world-famous Clydesdale horse team located in Fort Collins; then visit a sheep farm in Craig and learn how herding sheep can be environmentally friendly. We discover how the Colorado Alligator Farm came about to help eat up the waste as a result of selling 100,000 pounds of Tilapia to restaurants across the country. Lastly, former Senator Benjamin Nighthorse Campbell and other Native Americans discuss the importance of the buffalo to the Native American culture.
