World heritage sites are ones with special natural or cultural features that meet criteria for listing as set by the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO. States/Countries nominate sites for listing and outline how sites will be managed so as to conserve them for future generations and to protect their outstanding universal values. The program explains how sites are listed and the ways they are managed and protected.  The special character of 24 world heritage sites, including half (8) of Australia's sites are the basis of this program that fosters an appreciation of the diversity and importance of some of the world's great natural and cultural wonders. Includes 24 natural and cultural case studies including Bath and Stonehenge, Brugge ,The Palace of Versailles  and Banks of the Seine, Historic Centre of Rome, The Vatican and Pompeii, The Great Wall of China, Cesky Krumlov and Historic Centre of Prague, the Medina of Fes Morocco, The Great Barrrier Reef, Greater Blue Mountains, Wet Tropics of Queensland, Te Wahipounamu South west New Zealand.
