Two years have passed since Bess (Annie Maynard), an upper middle class doctor, discovered she was adopted and found her biological, drag racing parents. Margaret (Robyn Nevin), Bess' adoptive and uptight mother, constantly grapples with having to share her daughter while her biological parents, Julie (Robyn Malcolm) and Wayne (Glenn Robbins) are unconditionally embracing. Dreaming of a life as one big happy clan, Bess continues to clumsily fuse her two families, with varying levels of success.
