La tulipe noire

Guillemant, Dominique, 1967-2016
Book
In 17th century Holland, when William of Orange seized power, an honest provincial horticulturist was accused of treason. Despite his imprisonment, the young man tries to pursue his dream: to create the black tulip. Aided by Rosa, the jailer's own daughter, he will fight the jealousy and malice of the outside world to carry out his task. The author draws a living portrait of his characters and the passions that drive them.
