In 1969 a group of mothers who wanted to forge a different path came together, forming the (then) Council for the Single Mother and her Child. CSMC has since driven many significant changes including: the introduction of income support for single mothers; changes to the family law system; and changing stereotypes; all the while providing compassionate support to single mothers.
